A Father’s Thoughts to his Daughter

Wed., Apr. 6, 2010

Bri,

This morning I had a wonderful experience participating in initiatory ordinances in the Mesa Temple. I felt so comforted and uplifted as I pondered the covenants and blessings that were prounounced. In my heart, I fervently prayed the Lord would shower you with all those blessings.

Scriptural passages regarding faith; prayer, doubting nothing; and miracles are in my mind and heart continually. May you and Eric find great power, comfort and hope in the following passages . . .

John 14:

12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

I’ve added some bracketed words in the following passage from Matt. 21 that I feel are relevant to you at this time.

Matt. 21:

18 Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered.

19 And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit [tumor] grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree [cancer] withered away.

20 And when the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, How soon is the fig tree [cancer] withered away!

21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree [cancer], but also if ye shall say unto this mountain [impossible challenge], Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

The miracle continues. Priesthood blessings are being fulfilled. You will be strengthened and healed.

I love you,

Dad

When I count my blessings . . . I count you twice.

Man’s extremities are God’s opportunities.
